Online Pedagogics and Research

The aim of the online pedagogics and research -project is to connect the online pedagogic research and development as a part of the operations of the Virtual Polytechnic. The project promotes the development and sharing of online pedagogical expertise in the polytechnic networks and creates operations models which help with the need of online pedagogical support. This also ensures the pedagogical quality of content production.

The project is coordinated by principle lecturer Irja Leppisaari from the Central Ostrobothnia University of Applied Sciences and development director Leena Vainio from HAMK University of Applied Sciences. The funding for the online pedagogics and research –project comes from the polytechnics.

• offering the production rings support in online pedagogics through mentoring and the related action based research and development
• quality work in online pedagogics: in addition to the quality criteria for the learning objects, the project will also produce quality criteria for evaluating courses as well as for guidance and mentoring. The aim is to promote comprehensive quality thinking in online education.
• developing research: developing the research site of the portal and promoting the networking of the experts of online pedagogics (seminars, symposiums and conferences).
• representation of the Finnish Virtual Polytechnic and presenting research articles and results in international conferences, joining research forums.
