East Finland, ESF Objective Area 1, Productization and Technical Product Development (PKAMK)

The project for Productization and technical product development is coordinated by the North Karelia University of Applied Sciences. The other partners are Mikkeli Polytechnic and Savonia University of Applied Sciences. The project develops contents which are re-usable, transferable and usable in different learning environments. The production is based on learning objects.

Aim

The project ensures the multimedia, multi-channel and pedagological and technical quality of online learning. An online course forms a product, which has the characteristics, rights of use and the cost of a commodity.

Results

  • the threshold to use media technology is lowered by creating a model for productization
  • new technologies and distribution channels are tested and their usage is researched
  • guides and practices are created for how different technologies can be utilized in virtual teaching
  • a multimedia case bank is developed.
