Network - The Strength of the Universities of Applied Sciences

The Finnish Online University of Applied Sciences is a networked co-operation organization formed by all Finnish universities of applied sciences. The development unit co-ordinates the activities of the Finnish Online University of Applied Sciences and develops various services together with the universities of applied sciences.

The activities of the Finnish online university of applied sciences are based on universities' network and co-operative development. The management group, development unit, contact persons at universities of applied sciences, other experts and production group members share their expertise among the network. Objectivity, fairness and commitment to the strategy are the operational principals of the development unit.

Financial sources

The activities of the Finnish Online University of Applied Sciences are divided into separate projects: projects of development unit (projects of the Finnish Ministry of Education and ESF 3 -region projects) and projects of universities of applied sciences (projects of the Finnish Ministry of Education and ESF 1 -region projects). Universities' self-financing share is also very significant.

The national production group activities, portal service development and the portal of the open university of applied sciences are financed by the ESF 3 -project (Western and Southern Finland). The technical development of the study products, research and service development related to distance learning are financed by the ESF 1 -project (Eastern Finland, Lappland).
